Three categories of patents in HKSAR: -

Original Grant Patents are renewable annually and have a maximum validity period of 20 years. Standard Patents can be renewed annually after the third year, with a maximum validity period of 20 years. Short-Term Patents can be renewed starting from four years after the application submission date and have a maximum validity period of 8 years.

In Hong Kong, the granting of a standard patent is based on the registration of patents granted by the following three patent offices (referred to as "designated patent offices"):

Mr. Aron Li

Mr. Aron Li specializes in drafting patent documents and handling foreign patent applications. He is also involved in invalidation proceedings, examination opinion responses, reexaminations, and patent administrative litigation. His areas of expertise include automatic control, mechanical processing, semiconductors, air conditioning equipment, automobiles, washing machines, printing equipment, and more.
